Copilot for Sales: Ertan's 1 Day

As Makronet, one of our greatest strengths has been the endless energy and determination of our sales team. Withouth thinking of “that customer is yours, this customer is mine”, we know that we are all crew members of the same ship, we work together and support each other accordingly. Our goal is the same as every department, not the best in its field, but to be the most different; this is what makes us succesful. Our team, which makes our customers feel our difference directly, our dear sales department; and, of course, the captain of this department.


As Makronet's Sales Director, Ertan holds daily meetings, sets targets, plans meetings with potential customers, monitors sales performance, shares reports with local and global authorities, determines new strategies with marketing data, closely monitors the market, and has to do all this on his own. Of course, there is much more responsibility that comes with being a director, and keeping up with all of them can sometimes exhaust Ertan.


Ertan seemed to be able to cope with all this and more workload comfortably lately, so we knocked on his door and asked him the secret: The side hero is obvious, Microsoft Copilot.

We asked Ertan how he worked out with Copilot, and look how he summarized his day for us:


"Copilot works with my team to take care of administrative and routine tasks. That way, I can save time and focus on pipeline building and closing deals."


8:00 a.m.

"First thing in the morning, I review my incoming emails and review the responses that customers return to my sales team. All positive and negative comments are useful in determining our strategies."


Ertan is assisted by Copilot to summarize emails and conversations from his key client and needs to prepare for his big presentation to Makronet's top executives.  With the command "Summarize the events, complaints and suggestions from my e-mail and chat messages received yesterday", it  keeps track of the messages that it has missed and skipped.


8:15 a.m

"I may have to attend multiple meetings during the day, or even several at the same time. Also, it can take a lot of time to get back to each email, so Copilot helps me save time."


Using Copilot for Outlook, it approves incoming meetings and can specify their content with short commands. "Confirm my afternoon meeting. Let them know that we've updated their latest license updates and prices as they requested, and add that we'd be happy to work with them. Use a formal tone."


9:00 a.m.

"Sometimes our customers ask for more support in terms of prices. In such cases, it is necessary to calculate our financial situation, funds and added value. This allows us to offer the most optimal offer for our customer and our company."


Ertan received available funds and financial insights from finance and marketing managers. He uses Copilot for Excel to create a new proposal: "Show all data insights."


11:00 a.m.

"I have to report to Noventiq's global teams every quarter. For this reason, I need to prepare and present the outlook of previous quarters, half years and a full year."


By uploading all his data to the cloud, Ertan uses Copilot for PowerPoint and asks him to prepare a presentation: "Create a presentation based on [Report File]."


2:00 p.m.

"Meetings in Teams are more productive, but important points can inevitably be missed at some moments. In addition, creating a summary and preparing a report for those who did not participate is another challenge. Copilot can do that."


Ertan is more relaxed than ever in meetings. Knowing that Copilot is taking notes, he is able to focus only on his presentation and do his best: "Summarize the meeting, report key points and action items, list the questions asked in the meeting."


4:00 p.m.

"Sales teams know well that during working hours, offers are sent, calls are made, and after hours, offers are revised. We lose a lot of time in operational processes during the day and sometimes one working day may not be enough for us. However, we can also miss our other important work. Copilot got in the way of that."


At the end of the day, Ertan realized that he had missed a few conversations. There are tasks expected of the sales team for the new marketing event discussed in the conversation, and he consults Copilot for Teams to find out: "Summarize the conversation, identify key points, prepare the distribution of tasks."
